Fahrenheit 451 pp. 71-80

Fahrenheit 451 pp. 71-80
The thing that I’m mostly confused about is how Montag has books hidden in his attic and Beatty knows about them but doesn’t really say anything about it even though Montag Is a fireman and his job is to burn books. Why is he allowed to have books but no one else is?
When Montag says that books "point, one way or another, to Clarisse?" I think he says this because books have ideas, make you think, and make you have opinions. And Clarisse wasn’t like everyone else she always had something to say, she always had questions to be answered, she was very curious, and she had her own opinion and way of thinking just like the books make people feel and think. I think that books will get the people out of "the cave" because they will have their own opinions and thoughts. The cave to me means how everyone thinks and how they all have the same opinions and no one thinks for their own. Its just how their society is build and how everyone was raised
